Music of Armenia at The 6th IMC World Forum on Music
From 28th September to 1st October Music of Armenia's director Hasmik Movsisian will attend International Music Council's 6th World Forum on Music in Paris, where she will represent Armenia with MoA as a National Specialised member organisation.
MoA's 'Women's Musical Month' will also be exhibited in the '70 Years, 70 Projects' Exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of IMC, which will take place during WFM.
The IMC World Forum on Music is conceived as an influential global platform for sharing knowledge about music and society in the 21st century, a platform that explores a variety of topics from different perspectives: cultural, political and economic. The topics go beyond the aesthetic aspects of music production and address the mechanisms that promote or inhibit the active participation of people in cultural experiences.
After Los Angeles, Beijing, Tunis, Tallinn and Brisbane, the Forum will take place in Paris, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the International Music Council.
The International Music Council (IMC), founded in 1949 by UNESCO as its advisory body on musical matters, is the world’s largest network of organisations and institutions working in the field of music. The International Music Council promotes access to music for all and the value of music in the lives of all peoples.
Through its members and their networks, IMC has direct access to over 1000 organisations in some 150 countries and to 200 million persons eager to develop and share knowledge and experience on diverse aspects of musical life.
