Born in Yerevan (Armenia), Lucineh Hovanissian has been performing on stage since the age of 9. She studied piano and composition at music school, and at the age of eleven began performing as a pianist-composer. After entering State Medical Univeristy she started classes in the voice department at the Yerevan Conservatory and was soloist in the Armenian Public Radio Chamber Choir.
Lucineh received numerous awards including the Unesco-Aschberg award in music. She released 3 albums, authored German short film’s music, toured in France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Finland, Serbia, Switzerland, UK, USA and Canada. Her appearances include France Culture, Finnish Radio, WDR-Germany, CBC-Radio Canada. As visiting artist Lucineh was in residence at Symphony Space (New York), Cité des Arts Internationale (Paris), Cleveland (Cleveland Foundation), Villa Straeuli (Winterthur, Switzerland).
Lucineh holds an M.D. 'cum laude' from the Yerevan State Medical University and had specialization in brain studies at Pierre and Marie Curie University in Paris. Lucineh speaks five languages and is also lecturer and researcher-publicist: her scientific interests' area includes Emotions, Music and Mind; Neurophilosophy and Human Ecology.
