Don't stay home in silence, join The Quarantine Ensemble

The Quarantine Ensemble

Don’t stay at home in silence during these trying times. Join The Quarantine Ensemble to create, develop, evolve, meet, network and collaborate.

Are you a classical musician? Do you play a music instrument? Then apply to become a member of The Quarantine Ensemble and be a part of a brand new exciting project.

Send us short videos of your performances at home or in a professional concert setting (solo) in order to be considered for inclusion into the ensemble.

Once all the members of the ensemble have been put together, they will all be asked to perform a classical piece by Armenian composer Mikahil Kokzhayev. The members will be asked to record their performances and send to Music of Armenia. A video collage will be produced from the received videos.

As part of the project, Music of Armenia will also announce a call for a producer, who will then arrange the music/track into a modern piece with ambient and electronic influences. Once the quarantine has been lifted we will gather the ensemble and do a professional recording of the piece, as well as produce a music video. The above will give birth to a new ensemble and the project will be concluded by a live music concert of the ensemble.

The Quarantine Ensemble advocates collaboration between a number of musicians and visual artists as a way of promoting innovation and cross disciplinary cooperation. It encourages a conversation with new colleagues, which will give the involved artists a valuable cultural experience and enhance their expertise. This will lead to an increased understanding of different approaches and methods to eventually create opportunities for further development.
